The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County will host its 16th annual Earth Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Porter County Expo Center. The event is free to the public and will feature an array of vendors, wildlife shows, a magician performance, interactive children's games, guest speakers, birdhouse building, live music, food, giveaways and an estimated 2,000 attendees.

Across the nation, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is full of flowers, each carried by someone committed to ending this disease. Because like flowers, our participants don't stop when something's in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
Registration begins at 6:30am on the day of the event. Weigh-in at noon at the clubhouse, all live fish. Biggest fish payouts in the following categories:Bass, Bluegill/Redear/Warmouth, Crappie, Perch. Fish can be measured at the clubhouse anytime during the day and then released. Fishing from park property only - or fishing from your own boat or kayak you can launch onsite. All Indiana state fishing regulations apply. Bass and Walleye can be measured and released if below required length. Only kids fish for prizes. Besides fishing contests, there is a 50/50 raffle. Come join the Friends of Fishing for a day of fishing, fellowship, food and fun.
