Support our local growers as you enjoy the bounty of bedding plants in early summer, the freshest vegetables from summer through fall, and the handiwork of outdoor decorations to adorn your garden or lawn. The Farmers’ Market, located on Central Park Plaza, is open on Tuesdays: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., June through October.

Soapbox Derby
The first All-American Soapbox Derby race was held in Dayton, Ohio, on August 19, 1934. Today, Soapbox Derby races throughout the country are great ways to have fun and healthy competition. Mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration – July 4. 2010
Come on out to celebrate the 4th of July in Valparaiso style! Music is provided by the talented local high school musicians and the ConservaDellics, starring Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas! The celebration is held at T. J. Middle School - South Parking Lot, Event begins at 6:30 p.m.; Fireworks at dusk. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket for best viewing comfort. Rain date is July 5.
